Abstract
Next Generation Renewable Energy: Gen3REN
Next Generation Renewable Energy (Gen3REN) power plant, applies any form of renewable energy, with percentage of renewable energy producing hydrogen gas to be used in a the production of electricity, leading to the creation of baseload power, with ability to operate 24/7 regardless.
The Levelized Cost Of Energy (LCOE) is lower than that of all new nuclear energy technologies on the market, with zero requirements for hazardous prevention measures typically associated with nuclear power plants.
Jamaica has the ability to use conventional renewable energy storage, with solar panels, to achieve 100% energy independence. This only possible by way of careful calculation requirement to meet the demand required for supply of baseload energy.
Gen3REN in theory makes nuclear power obsolete for power plant purposes, as with the excess production of energy derived from a large scale cost effective role of solar panels, generating the required amount of energy that can be stored for later use via long term storage, lead to the ability to install with relative ease 300 MW Gen3REN power plants in series, of which 3 such plants would meet 100% of all JPS installed capacity, at lower cost than that of LNG, and definitely as well far lower LCOE cost than nuclear energy.
This innovation has been entered in the 2024 GOJ/NCST Innovation Award Competition.
